Museum is an
information center that saves facts and evidences of histories in the past.
Zoology museum is one of interesting museums to observe the collections of
replicas and Indonesian animals’ skeletons. In last Thursday, October 24st,
2013, my friends and I visited Zoology Museum in Bogor. After we arrived, we
needed to enter through Kebun Raya Bogor. It happened because the Zoology
Museum and Kebun Raya Bogor had been integrated. Bogor’s
Zoologi Museum was managed quite well and interesting, the room was well
arranged and unique; it was seperated into few rooms and the collections
were classified by their species. In front of
Zoology Museum, we were pampered by the interesting aesthetics on the gate of
museum.
The paintings on
the gate were tree paintings, flower paintings, and even the paintings that characterizes
the museum’s uniqueness, that is animal
paintings. This kind of thing triggered my admiration in the trip because the
museum really noticed the beauty of arts from the paintings. The
most amazing thing I saw was the big “whale sceleton". But it could only be seen
from outside the room. When I went there, I
wasn't allowed to go inside because the room was being renovated.
After that, we
came to the collection room in the museum. Obviously, in the museum, besides
being an entertaining place for the visitors, it was also educative and
informative. Besides watching the diorama of replicas and skeletons, there was
also the explanation and information that described the animals. This kind of
thing increased the visitors knowledge about the collection of animals in
Indonesia. In my opinion, the museum is really interesting as domestic
excursion and even foreign tourist excursion because we can see a lot of
Indonesia animals which are conserved and protected.

Bogor’s Zoology
Museum is a museum related with animal world that has become the destination of
Indonesian beauty. When I visited in afternoon, there were a lot of tourists
and local visitors, such as kindergarten children, researchers from school and
college, and many other people. The museum also has various types of preserved
animals and various types of animals’ colors. Before I decided to go to the
museum, actually, I had been told by my friend that the museum was scary.
However, that kind of thing did not scare me for the visit because it had
become a challenge for me.
After I arrived,
through the road of “Kebun Raya Bogor”, I was pampered by the green foliages which were
beautiful and clean. Zoology Museum collects hundreds or even thousands of
various types of animals, such as mammals, avian, reptilian, fish, molluscas, insects, and even invertebrate animals. It was
so unforgettable, and it was a precious opportunity because I rarely find these
numbers of animals in a place. Visiting the museum was fun as if I
do not need to go to various regions in order to find animals. Other than that, the fauna’s I saw were so
many and variative.
The Zoologi Museum has 650 kinds of mammals, 1.100 species of birds, 600
reptiles and fishes, 700 invertebrata, 10 thousands insects and 2.300 kinds of
mullusca.

When I visited
the museum, there were a lot of people coming and visiting the museum. Besides
holiday, this museum might become the most interesting place for kids because
they love to see various types of animals. It is so interesting, isn’t it? When
I firstly arrived to the museum, I was welcomed by the preserved animals’
skeletons. Various types of animals can be found here. So, Bogor’s Zoology
Museum is a place that can become tools and benefits for: increasing the
knowledge about the collection of animals in Indonesia, being an educative and informative
place for all people where these people got the knowledge about animals, and
being a fun place for an educational trip and recreation. Like the using of the media display which is more
interesting and interactive, it can eliminate the boredom from your daily
activities.
